Saint-Egr&egrave;ve, France, February 12, 2013 - Vi TECHNOLOGY will participate at the Electronics For You EXPO 2013 in Pragati Maidan,New Delhi from February 21st to 23rd. This year, EFY Expo13 has setup an assembly line to demonstrate SMT equipment capabilities. As part of this new opportunity, Vi TECHNOLOGY is proud to demonstrate its new 2K Spectro. The 2K Spectro will perform post-reflow and visitors will be able to appreciate the quality of the inspection at &ldquo;Live SMT LINE&rdquo; (booth N50). Attendees will be able to see optimum test coverage as well as &ldquo;best in class&rdquo; low false calls rate and cycle time. &ldquo;Being able to perform live provides visitors a very good opportunity to understand AOI equipment in &lsquo;real life&rsquo; and show them a complete configuration&rdquo; said Rakesh Shetty, Business Development Manager for India. Vi TECHNOLOGY 2K Spectro, with its effective footprint for PCB size not exceeding 14&rdquo;x14&rdquo;, is the smallest system of the Vi TECHNOLOGY K-Series. Surface Mount Technology (SMT) has widely replaced Through Hole Technology (THT), allowing smaller assembly sizes due to, thinner boards, finer pitches and smaller size components, also setting quality and product life are to a higher standard.<br />

Although production habits and rules have changed, providing higher quality and productivity, Pin Through Hole (PTH) component use is still necessary in specific applications because of a higher resistance to mechanical stress and vibration. Teach Assist dramatically simplifies the creation of new leaded component modules. Just a few clicks are enough to measure ICs dimensions on real images and position inspection algorithms. It was seen to offer significant value to customers who were struggling with multiple camera systems to ensure accurate and repeatable measurement of&nbsp;tilt and coplanarity on ICs, connectors and passive components during PCBA&nbsp;inspection&nbsp;without affecting cycle time. <br />
It can be used for all applications but is mainly for costly and high-reliability end-user applications in the automotive, industrial and infrastructure segments, where such defects must be identified.
